DaQ program

Hi.I'm using the PCI6024e card along with the traditional NI DaQ board.looking for help/a program to drive a stepper motor from digital outputs on the DaQ board and program to read voltage and plot against time.any help would be greatly appreaciated.Thank you

Hi

I just have a few questions about your set up before I am able to help you with examples:

1) Are you using another DAQ card in addition to the PCI-6024e? If so, which card are you using?

2) Do you want to read the voltage from the stepper motor?

3) How are you generating the digital outputs to send to the stepper motor?

4) What type of input does the stepper motor take? Does it require a PWM signal?

I'm only using the PCI-6024e card to drive the DaQ board which is a NI SC2075 board.
No i'm not reading the voltage from the stepper motor, but i do need the digital outputs from the DaQ board DIO0,DIO1,DIO2,DIO3 to switch at a clocked rate, which will drive the stepper motor through a buffer circuit.
The stepper motor takes four 5Volt
inputs to step(these i need to control) and two common 12Volt inputs to provide power(no control needed). Not sure about PWM signal.
The voltage i need to read in is from a differential amplifier circuit and this would also need to be incorperated into the program in order to plot the varying voltage on a graph with respect to time.
Thanks very much, any help is greatly appreiciated!

Hi

Thanks for the extra information. I have found a lab experiment online that might be useful for your application, here is a link to it. The experiment goes through how to control a stepper motor with the PCI-6024e.

You will also need to do an analog input to read in the voltage from the differential amplifier circuit. There are examples of how to acquire an analog input in the NI example finder, which is found by going to Help>>Find Examples in LabVIEW . You can find the analog input examples by navigating to Hardware Input and Output>>DAQmx>>Analog Measurements>>Voltage. The 'Cont Acq & Graph Voltage-Ext Clk.vi'

I hope this helps
