Greetings,

I am a user of the DSC for several years. I was using LV 2012 before upgrading to LV2015. All was well, my variables were logging as intended for years. Now even if I am able to see the realtimne values of the variables, they are not being logged. It started while I still was in LV 2012 and thought that upgrading would solve the issue. The same, even on different computers. Everything is configured as it should so, what could be preventing the data from being collected?

Might it be something in your code (which we can't see)?  Might it be something in your computer (did you upgrade or replace the machine)?  Can you tell us what you are trying to do (or, better, post your code so we can see) so we can try it ourselves?

Hello,

Basically what we have is a simple facilities monitor. All network variables are declared and configured to log data to the Labview's Citadel database. The user interface is just a screen with the equipment we monitor plus historical trends of the individual variables grouped by location and type. The system has been working for a number of years, it just stopped logging. We started this system in 2005 based in cFP and later upgraded to cRio interfaces. The change was transparent, everything worked until a a number of months ago when it just stopped logging. No configuration change was made. I upgraded to LV15, but the problem continues. I suspect a network issue, but I don't know where to start. The IT guys have no idea, but I am aware they have implemented changes network changes in the system but they are not forthcoming on what they changed.

Who is writing log data, cRIO to network drive or local prog constantly receives and logs data?

In first case it is network folder access, somebody started blocking it. Windows firewall, antivirus shields, windows folder access. 

For PCs not in homegroup (cRIO) Win7 by default requires to login as one of the local users to access shared folder. Even if folder is shared with everyone.

Turning off Password protected sharing in Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center\Advanced sharing settings or turning on Guest account might help

What folder do you write data? Check Properties -> Security and list of users who can access it.

The variables are Network variables tied to the cRio Channels and the folder is in the  Labview Data folder. The Rio is used basically for reading the inputs, and the variables are the ones who do the logging into the database. The historical trend reads the data from the database to display a 3 day chart. I will check the items you mentioned and keep you posted.

Are you using CITADEL for this logging? If so, what operating system are these machines on?
