DAQmx Base can be used on all platforms which LabVIEW supports. The limitations of DAQmx Base apply to all platforms.
DAQmx is only supported on Windows. The DAQ Assistant only works with DAQmx on Windows.
YOU CANNOT USE THE DAQ ASSISTANT ON THE Mac OS!
If you want it, please ask your NI sales rep to ask the NI development teams to make it available on the Mac. Some of us have been asking for full DAQ support on the Mac for years but it has not happened yet. The more people ask for it, the more likely the NI will apply the resources necessary to make it happen. Go to the Idea Exchange and kudo this and this. NI does listen to input from customers and the Idea Exchange, in particular, does work.
