DAQ and microphone

Hi all,

 

I am using NI USB-6009 and I want to use microphone to get the sound input

How can I connect the microphone to the DAQ?

can i use a wire and connect directly to the microphone?

plzz help me with the problem

 

i'll attach the spec of the mic i am planning on buying

The problem is that the microphone needs to be powered (+15V to +48V).  This is done on the signal lines via Phantom Power.  Useful for sound systems.  Not so much for DAQ setups.

 

What you may be able to do use use a power supply to get the voltage on the signal lines and then use a capacitor in series with the DAQ.  The idea here is to AC couple the DAQ so that it only sees changes in voltage, not the DC power.

so, you mean that i have to use power supply and capacitor to power the microphone?

Why not plug your microphone into your PC's Sound input and use the Sound Input VIs that ship with LabVIEW?  Let your PC do the acquisition for you (and use the USB 6009 for other things).
