DAQ Problems

I installed DAQ 7.1. I drop a DAQmx task on a front panel, right click, and select DAQ Assistant. A message box pops up and says "DAQ Assistant initializing", and then LV hangs. This happens in both LV 7.0 and LV 7.1 on several different machines. Also, I don't have any DAQ Express Vis on my functions pallette. Any help?

Thanks,
Bill F

Hi Bill,

Thank you for contacting National Instruments.

Ed is correct. Your problem is going to boil down to an incorrect, corrupt, or incomplete installation of NI-DAQ. The problem you are experiencing is common when you have multiple versions of NI-DAQ installed on top of one another. I suspect this is the case since you mention that you are using both LabVIEW 7.0 and 7.1. You probably installed NI-DAQ 7.1 with LabVIEW 7.0 and then installed NI-DAQ 7.2 with LabVIEW 7.1.

The suggestions that Ed has given you are all great ideas. Ultimately, you will need to uninstall all versions of NI-DAQ from your computer using Add/Remove Programs and reinstall NI-DAQ 7.2 using the Driver CD that was distributed with your copy of LabVIEW 7.1. You can also downlo
ad the latest version of NI-DAQ from our website using the following link:

I hope this helps!
