Custom dialog - subvi

Hi ng,
since my program got too complex I created a vi that is supposed to behave
like a dialog box.
I want to open it when my main vi starts and after closing the dialog vi
again the results from that vi returns to the main vi and the program
begins.
How do I close the dialog-vi again without exiting the whole application?
I already set up the properties in the dialog-vi to behave like a dialog.
But whenever I tried it I either quit the whole program or nothing happened
and I had trouble stopping the running application again :-x
Any hint will be appreciated!

B RAM sufficient to handle "average" labview

The dialog VI should have it's properties set to "Show Front Panel When Called" and "Close Afterwards if Originally Closed". They're on the same page as you set the dialog properties (Customize Window Appearance). There's a couple of shipping examples that show this. Go to Find Examples>Building User Interfaces>Designing Dialog Boxes. If you have a Stop or Quit LabVIEW function in your subVI, take it out.

I don't know what an "average" LabVIEW program is but your configuration is better than some that I'm using without any problems.

I've guess that you have tried to set the parameters in => File menu /
Choose VI Properties / In the Category-field Choose Windows appearance and
click on the Custombuttom and Customize. Then select Show front panel when
called and ... Close afterwards.

My wok machine is a 400 MHz and it is fine.

64Mb of mememory will put you into "swap land" as soon as you fire up LV.

This is not good if you plan to do DAQ.

A couple of months ago I siad I needed more memory. They chased down the prices and decide a new machine would be a better investment.

So,
You do not have enough memory, so buy a new machine.
