Custom Boolean breaks my event structure

Solved!

Thats what I was looking for, you helped me solve my Problem. I was just following the average tutorial how to customize a control, most of them just tell you to make a type def out of it.

I created OK Buttons and hooked them up to my event structure, but when i changed one of them to a custom button the connection broke.

Stupid question: Why did you make a Boolean a type def?  I would change that to a control so that the button is no longer getting its value type from another file.

If it's been customized, why not?

Because it is still just a Boolean.  Type Defs are really made for custom data types, which I generalize down to enums and clusters.  When you just want a special looking button, you make the ctl a control.

After you guys helped me understand how to make custom controlls I found this in the LabView help and that was what I was looking for the whole time.

My impression so far was that you had problems with events, not with customizing a control. Two very different things!

I had problems with my event structure because of the type def booleans, but I actually dont need to type def them to customize them. I just found some bad advice when I looked for solutions online how to change button appearences.
