Credit Card VI

I am trying to create a vi that acts like a credit card scanner similar to
the ones in Wal-Mart or other stores. I am new to labview and could use
some direction. Can anyone help? Tim Scott

Use VISA, of course! ¦¬)

Seriously, buy a card reader. These devices must have an interface of some kind (serial, USB, etc.) that you'll can program with LabVIEW I/O functions. If the device, has a well done driver, then using the device might be as simple as calling a DLL or an ActiveX component.

We can't help you much more if you don't provide more information about the interface of the device.

Yes please provide more info on your interface and the device.

Last I looked credit cards had 7 tracks of NRZ encoded data. Your name should be in track 3. There is a CRC check at the end of each track.

Well at least that how it was encoded 20 years ago.
