Creating a Shared Library

Solved!
Go to solution

I need to create a shared library (Linux version) and a DLL (Windows version) for an application that I am currently working on.I understand how to create the DLL using the application builder with the Shared Library (DLL) wizard from Windows. How can I create a .so or shared library that can be used on a Linux operating system? Do I need to install the LabVIEW IDE on Linux OS? Is there a Linux version of the LabVIEW IDE and is it included with the Windows version?

Thanks!

There's no way to cross compile in LabVIEW.

So to make a .so you need LabVIEW for Linux.

The Linux version is not included in on the Windows disk. There might be a way to share\use a normal license under Linux. But you need to install it first. I don't think you can download it, and honestly have no idea where to get it.
