Create a thread/ background execution

Hi Oriana,

Following up on what Shane suggested...

Use an "invoke Node" and set the "wait until done" input to false.

I use this method all of the time to start an application running in the background that logs any errors that occur durring testing.

No need to resort to those nasty extremes that involve letter other than "G".

Hello Ben,

You are as quit as your avatar. Thanks a lot! I knew the invoke node that exist but I forgot about it.

Have a great day!

I needed a dictionary to understand your reply.

You are too kind!

I am simply a fellow traveler in the "G"olden wood that can not bear to see other travelers stumble.

I am glad we were able to help!

Yeap,

it is a litle tricky! 😉

Avatar:
1. - god appearing in an earthly body, incarnation (Hindu religion).
2. - a graphical icon that represent a real person in a cyberspace system. The term was popularized by Neal Stephenson in his novel "Snow Crash".

I bet wat what you thought! Hihihi .... amazingly!

Personally, I would have thought of the word "quit" in this sense as being more unusual. It's not really used in this form much any more, whereas "Avatar" has gained the new meaning you have outlined in yourmail.

Just my 2c

OK,

The world makes sense again.

My wife will want to read this for two reasons.

1) She was the one that invoked her right to choose my icon.

2) I am not allowed to use the word "cute" without her approval (it is after all a four letter word).

Take a look at this package proposal: Asynchronous Call By Reference. It allows you to call a VI, by reference, but continue execution without waiting for it to finish running. It provides you with a reference, so that you can query the status of the call, and receive the return data once the call completes. Also, In order to run this you will also need some dependency packages which may be downloaded using OpenG Commander.
