Converting a LabWindows driver to LabVIEW

I'm using a Thermotron driver made for LabWindows/CVI.  I had LabVIEW 7.1 on a prior pc and it converted just fine.  That pc died and now I have LabVIEW 8.2.  It does not have the built in conversion so I downloaded the LabVIEW Interface Driver for LabWindows/CVI Instrument Drivers 1.2.  I did the conversion and it seemed to work okay but it was unable to convert some key vis, like the initialization vi which I need.

Also when I open any other of the converted vis, it tries to download the ivi.dll which I do not have.

HI,

I am sorry to see that you are having issues with this. Unfortunately this driver is created by a third party so we do not support it. From looking at your error codes it seems that the driver may not have been created correctly and those differences are causing errors when converting to LabVIEW. I would suggest that you contact the manufacturer to see if they can help you with this.

Thermotron has LabVIEW drivers on their website.

If you want to run or convert an IVI driver into LabVIEW, you first have to install the IVI Compliance Package. You can install it from the Driver CD that came with LabVIEW 8.20.
