Connecting with Data Acquisition

Hi,

I'm doing a car model which control by pda. Now, I'm trying connect data acquisition as input signal to my h-bridge circuit. But, the problem i found is the supply from the data acquisition are 3.3V and 0.01A and i only need 1.4V and 0.2A to drive the h-bridge. can anyone give me an idea how to fix this issue?

Thanks.

Hi Wyatt,

from your numbers I would guess you need a power supplySmiley Wink

While the DAQ may provide the needed voltage (using a simple resistor network or a low drop voltage regulator) it will definitely not provide the current you need. But it should be sufficient to drive a relais or a transistor to switch a pwoer supply...

Hi Gerd,

Thanks for reply. So, do u mean that i need another power supply for the input signal for the h-bridge?  Then, Daq supply connect to the relay which control the power supply? Im quite confused, try to make things clear...

1 more thing about the Daq...im actually curious on can i actually use the DIO to direct send a signal to the h-bridge instead?

Regards.

Hi Wyatt,

sending out a signal is no problem using DIO - but you have to decide between a TTL-compatible signal using some milliamps and an output driver supplying 200mA...

Hi Gerd,

Which mean i can skip the implementation of the relays and stuff and focus on the TTL signal to my h-bridge?
Sry for all the electrical question. Im not good in it.

Hi Wyatt,

well, without seeing your layout I can't recommend anything for sure... I only see that you have a source capable of supplying 30mW and your sink will need 300mW (from your first post). That's a big discrepancy! There's also a big difference between powersupplying a circuit and sending a signal to it...
Best regards,
GerdW

Hi Gerd,

My project is about controlling a car model with a PDA Bluetooth. For the car model part, i need to connect Daq(CF-6004) with H-bridge driver (L293D) to send the signal to run the DC motors (1st motor for Left/Right 2nd motor for Forward/Reverse). Controlling Part, remote controlling the car model with another PDA via Bluetooth.

From the 1st post, I try to connect the Daq with H-bridge i made. But, last week i burned my H-bridge on the attempt and now i switched to use L293D instead. Hence, The specification of the signal might vary. For the L293D i used i need  2 supply for it, 5 V for the IC itself another 6 V for the DC motors. Supply from Daq 3.3V and 0.01 A.

About powersupplying circuit and sending signal i got no idea at all. I can't think of anything when i panic, especially i left 1 month for the deadline.

Please guide me.

Hi,

I know that the problem im asking not really related to LV. But, please someone give me solution for this.

Thanks.

Sincerely,
Wyatt
