Communication Error from the OPC Server in LV?

I communicatwe to a MODBUS device using the "Lookout Protocol Drivers OPC Server" which is a task separated from LV and the DSC engine (this is the normal way to do this as far as I know). If there is a communication error caused by the serial link you can see it there. You can select and acknowledge etc. I need to have this information in my LabVIEW programm, too as well as the acknowledging of these errors.
Is this possible and how can I do this?

Thanks Wolfram2

Hi Wolfram2,

Objects and database parameters can generate alarms in the Lookout OPC Server. At this time, however, you cannot access these alarms through LabVIEW DSC or any other client software. This is due to the fact that Lookout (as well as Lookout Protocol Drivers) does not expose the $Alarm object through the OPC Server.

Take a look at the system datamembers of the modbus object. There should be a comm error datamember that you can subscribe to.

This is a good suggestion. This will at least let the user monitor the system for comm failures. However, this will not allow the user to acknowledge an alarm in LPD.
