Coding Standards Example

I have had little luck in finding an example set of LabView coding stanards/naming conventions. If anyone has a link to such a thing, I would greatly appreciate hearing about it.

Many thanks,

Kevin

Have you read the shipping document called LabVIEW Development Guildlines? You should also do a search of the Developer Zone of a couple articles called Rules to Wire By.

I did see the Rules to Wire by (at least the first one) but I need something more detailed in order to construct a standards document that will get past the quality assurance people. The bloomy presentations are much closer to what I am looking for. Still looking, though. And thanks for the help to date.

I would be interested in what you come up with also. In a few months I will likely have to compile this document as well since I am in a regulated industry and will have to have a process in place for coding in Labview.

There is also a Development Tools and Guidelines Page at http://zone.ni.com/devzone/devzone.nsf/webcategories/612A2407CB3879D1862567AC0058814A
that may be useful.

You might find Peter Blume's book "The LabVIEW Style Book" helpful.

Yes I saw the 'advertissement' in the National Instruments news letter Instrumentation Q3 2007 on page 14.

I do pride myself on the clarity of my work; even though few get to see it. I think I will be buying the book.

I subscribe.  The book, even if des not contain a complete coding standard, can be a good starting point to fix some good programming rules
