Cannot access DAQmx VI's for automatic code generation

Hi,

I'm using Labview 7.0 and am trying to automatically create code for a task that I created in MAX (4.2.1) using DAQmx. I verified that the task is working fine in MAX. Now I want to automatically generate code for data acquisition and the code generation utility says that certain VI's are not found (for e.g. DAQmx Read.VI, DAQmx Read(Analog 1D Wfm NChan NSamp.VI etc....). Could it be the reason that DAQmx was not properly installed? I intalled DAQmxBase 220 and its still the same and the latest driver NIDAQ850 dosent offer support for LView 7.0.

I tried to install the drivers from the LabView 7.0 CD again and tried to install NI-DAQ 7.0. But under 'Data Acquisition\NI-DAQmx 7.0\LabView 7.0 Support', it says that the feature will remain uninstalled, since NI-DAQmx works only with LabView 7.0 or later. But I'm already using LabView 7.0.

Can somebody please help me getting DAQmx installed? Thanks in advance.

Hi Cinci,

If you have MAX 4.2.1, it sounds like you have installed the newest version of DAQmx.  It's true that this version does not support LabVIEW 7.0.  I'm not sure why you would have installed DAQmxBase.  You will need to use DAQmx 8.0.1 or older with LabVIEW 7.  It is available for download here. You will need to uninstall the version of DAQmx that is currently installed on your computer before installing this older version.

Let us know how that goes.

Hey Luke, thanks for the post. Since, I didnt hear from anybody on the forum, I got in touch with NI support and they suggested that I uninstall all present drivers and install DAQmx 8.1 After this reinstall, it couldnt detect the 6036E, but I just reset the DAQmx confirguration in MAX and...voila!!!

Everything seems to work now.

Thanks,
