Can LabVIEW Open a *.txt file using Notepad?

Solved!
Go to solution

I am logging data into a *.txt file while running a LabVIEW VI.  When the user presses the "Exit" button, I would like a dialogue window to pop up and ask the user if he/she wants to open the *.txt data file using MS Notepad.  Is this possible?  If so, how do I do it.  I read an old (2005) thread that refers to "systemexec.vi" as a way to do this, but I cannot find that VI in my examples.

I am using LabVIEW 2009.

Thanks very much.

Thanks.  I cannot get that VI through my company firewall because it says that it contains a virus.  I'm pretty sure it doesn't.  Could someone zip it for me?

It doesn't contain a virus. Your company's anti-virus needs to have its signatures corrected.

My company needs many things, so thank you for the help with the work-around.  It worked perfectly.

I found "systemexec.vi" by backtracing it up the folder chain.

Thanks very much.
