Can I use DAQCard-1200 on Windows XP computer

I have a DAQCARD-1200 and understand it only works on Windows 2000 (not XP).

http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/5498

I would very much like to get this to work on my Windows XP computer.  Is there any type of computer "patch" or anything that would allow me to use this piece of hardware on my Windows XP computer?

Thanks,

Ben

I would suspecyt when they wrote the spec sheet on that card, win XP was not out yet.

Have you tried it? Are you having problems with it installed on the PC with XP?

What version of LabVIEW? You may have to use an old version of NI-DAQ for a driver. Here's a link to assist:

The product page for the DAQCard 1200 says that it requires Traditional DAQ 6.9.1 or earlier. 6.9.1 does not officially support XP. However, there's later versions of this driver available. Specifically, Traditional DAQ 6.9.3 is indicated as supporting XP. There's also no mention of 6.9.3 not supporting the DAQCard 1200. Also, this page indicates that the DAQCard-1200 can use 6.9.3. So either the product page on the web site is wrong or the readme for 6.9.3 is wrong. My guess is that the product's web page is wrong. Therefore, you should be able to use that card provided you get Traditional DAQ 6.9.3.

Can you install the Traditional DAQ 6.9.3 with LV8.x?  It doesn't specify a LV version..  It's been ages since I worked with the traditional DAQ.

Curious..  What would cause XP not to support something that 2000 does with respect to the traditional DAQ? Especially since they refer to the same version of the Traditiona DAQ...

According to this, you need Traditional DAQ 7.4.1 for LabVIEW 8.

That's what I thought...  I think LV7.x was the last version to support it.

Thanks smercurio.

DAQ 7.4.1 supported LV7.0-8.0

DAQ 7.4.4 supported LV7.0-8.5
