Building a report

Hi all,

i´ve tried to build a report with these report vi´s for the first time.
Because of this i´ve looked at the sample report vi´s first,
but it seems that none of these is working (lot´s of error messages, eg:
subvi isn´t executeabel).
So - why??? Has anyone the same problem???
Are the sample vi´s bad???

Btw, i use LV6.0i

You'll need to read the documentation to see what you need to define. There may be certain variables that you need to define before running it.

I tried the "Simple Test Report" example in LabVIEW 6i and it ran fine.

Which example are you running?

I ran the examples that you mentioned and they were fine for me. Do you have Report Generation toolkit installed properly? You might want to reinstall that Toolkit. When you click on the error list, what does it tell you? Check the file location of the VIs. They will give you a clue of what might be the root of the problem.

Yes, I've had that problem. What you need to do is delete the LVRT information and reload LVRT (includes report generation) from the files stored at NI's site. the exact step-by-step instructions are there as well.

Okay, I finally found it. Here is the information sent to me from NI tech support:

1. delete NI-Report from my registry
2. delete the folder named ni-reports from ..\National Instruments\shared
3. reinstall the LV 6 Run-Time Engine from the ftp site: http://www.ni.com
-> downloads -> drivers and updates -> LabVIEW

Hope that this helps. It worked for me anyway.
