Building a Custom Device vs Model in LabVIEW (Responsiveness)

I apologize if this question does not belong here, but I want to ask:

If a build a custom device and a model, both as equal as possible code/VI-wise, in general which one would be more "responsive" in terms of incoming and outgoing data?

Maybe you could explain in more detail what you mean by Device and Model?

Hi,

If you're asking about a Custom Device vs LabVIEW model for VeriStand, you'll probably have better luck posting on the VeriStand Discussion Forums.

It would also helpful when posting on there to clarify what you are looking for in terms of "responsiveness" of your data. This help doc may also be a useful reference for determining if you need a custom device or not.

Best of luck!

I had this question answered a week ago on the J1939 Custom Device Support Forum. Should have closed this. Sorry...

It is also (as of right now) a completely moot point for new hardware because LinuxRT doesn't support LabVIEW models at all... 🙂
