Builder install problem

Builder 6.1 will not install. The error message is "Unsatisfied Dependencies:LabVIEW 6.1 is required to use the Application Builder".   LabVIEW 6.1 is installed and runs.  Thanks. 🙂

Hi ,

Looking at the error message it looks like you are trying to install application builder on a machine that does not have LabVIEW installed? If this is the case then please be advised that Application Builder is an add-on to LabVIEW and requires pre-installation of LabVIEW.

Hope it helps,

Ankita

LabVIEW 6.1 is already installed and been in use for years. The install program for Application Builder 6.1 does not agree with that fact though. 🙂  If I knew what the App Builder program was looking for in the windows registry or in the LabVIEW 6.1 install directory then maybe I could do something. Reinstalling LabVIEW does not fix the problom.

stupid question but worth asking.  Does the person installing the app builder have local admin rights on the computer in question?

Yep. I'm the owner and have never had a problem installing software.

Hi,

I would suggest trying a uninstall and reinstall of LabVIEW 6.1 and then an install of Application Builder.

Yep. Done that a few times using default install settings. I think the registry entry(s) got corrupt so the App Builder doesn't think LabVIEW is installed but since the App Builder doesn't give a clear enough error of what it's looking for my hands are tied. If I knew what to look for in the registry I could most likely fix it or verify it's there, that is if thats where the problem is. Thanks.
