Build option is grayed out

The "build" option is always grayed out, preventing me from compiling both VI's and projects. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Every VI is compiled but if you want to create an executable, you need to have the professional version of LabVIEW or have purchased the app builder separately.
