Build Application question precisions

Hi all,

Sorry about the incomplet informations in the previous post. What I am
trying to change is the message that pop up when you launch an application
made by the labview app builder and when you don't have the run time engine.
The message say something like the user must contact the vendor of the
application to solve the problem, but my employer don't like that and he
want a message that said that the run time engine is on ni site or something
like that.

This problem is easy to avoid by including the run-time engine with your application. Choose to create an installer, click the Advanced button and make sure the Install LabVIEW Run-Time Engine is selected.

And if you are concerned about the size of the installer ? ...

I stopped worrying about the size when CDs became cheaper than floppies. Besides, the run-time engine is something that has to be installed anyway. Telling the end user to track it down on the Internet or a different CD justs seems to be counter=productive.

your right Ela, Include the run-time with the installer is ridiculus in my
case, my applications are less than 1 mb.

Prior to version 6, the run-time engine was part of every built application. That meant that every executable was several MB in size. Now, with a separate run-time engine, it only needs to be installed once. This is a distinct advantage when there are multiple LabVIEW applications that get installed. The "1 MB" exe is kind of misleading but it's not all that different from other windows applications that might also have a small exe but then require several MB in .dlls to run.
