Hi balan,
It would be helpful to know what RF test instruments you are using. Are you using NI hardware or third party instruments? If it is the last one, how are you communicating to them with LabVIEW? Are you using the instruments' drivers? You can find several resources in our website, at first hand I would recommend looking at this Developer Zone Article: RF & Communications Resources, it is helpful if you are developing your application using National Instruments hardware as well. Also this Developer Zone might be good to look at. I hope this is helpful,

Microwaves made Simple
The book was published just as NI was being born. After looking at the price on Amazon.com, I think I'l keep a closer eye on my copy.
Learn the fundamentals first and then try to automate.

Balan,
This is the kind of thing I do nearly all the time, controling RF instrumentation using LabView. My first suggestion is get familiar with the manuals of the equipment, specifically the programming sections. Depending on who's equipment you are using, and how old it is determines alot about communicating with the instrument and how much you can control remotely. In quite a few cases I use the instrument drivers available from NI, but now and again, I find it's just as quick or more effecient to write my own, depending on what I need to do.
Do you know what manufactures of equipment you are using, and what bus you will be using to connect to them? If you get stuck send me an email (troy.otto@echostar.com), or respond to the thread. We can help you out.

Hi balan.
Have a look at www.agilent.com. They have a lot of great application notes discussing instruments and measurements basics. You can study there how to use RF instruments.
