Hi!

how can I  read-in a BNC signal into the computer? I've got a PCI-board from YCL(ethernet I think) with an integrated BNC-Port there; is this sufficient for getting the signal into Labview? And what communication protocol would that be?Or do I need another board to aquire the data?

Once upon a time, before networks were wired with UTP (unshielded twisted pair) cabling, they used coaxial cables and if you really have an Ethernet board, then the BNC is for compatiblity with these old style network connections. If the type of signal you want to bring into the pc is an Ethernet connection, then this card will work assuming that you have a sutitable hub to connect it to or another pc with the same type of connection.

If an Ethernet connection is not the type of signal you want to bring into the pc, what type do you want? Don't confuse the connector type with the type of signal.

Just an analog signal of a transducer I want to aquire.

Well, then an Ethernet board is obviously not going to work. You will need an actual data acquisition device capable of measuring the analog signal. You can provide some details about the type of transducer, voltage levels, etc. and ask here for help in selecting the correct device, click the Products & Services link at the top of the page and browse through the NI devices, or contact your local NI Sales Engineer and ask for help after explaining the type of transducer, etc.
