Any newbie help? The "Getting started with Labview", April 2003 Edition, don't work.

I have just installed my first NI product. A PCI-6229 and Labview 7.1.1.

As I am working through the guide I notice that the pictures and text don't really look the same in the guide as on my screen. A lot of options/text is different.
When reaching chap. 4-4 the first problem related to this occur.

I am trying to create a graph window that plot the in signal, a voltage that I get from a external power supply unit. All works but the automatic legend in my graph indicator don't update. When changing name of the signal in my DAQ Assistant the name in the legend changes to "Plot 0". It won’t change back to "Voltage" as it was before I tried to change it when trying to reset it.

1. So, is there any new updated "Getting started with Labview" anywhere? (I have tried to locate one, but no luck.)
2. What am I doing wrong? How do I get the graph legend to correctly update the name of my signal?

Hello!

Please check the attached word-document where I have described all steps necessary with pictures to illustrate you needs to perform to be able to change the channel name properly.

I am using LabVIEW 7.1.1 on Windows XP SP2 and the driver version used is NI-DAQmx 7.4.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for Your reply,

but the channel name don't show up correctly in my "Waveform Chart" as legends. The first channel is correct but the second isn't.

I have a "Waveform Chart", connected to it is a "merged" signal from one DAQ Assistant (channel name=MotorVinkelIn) and a Int "Num Ctrl" with the label "MotorvinkelBörvärde". I have tried to change the Int to a dynamic data but without succes.
Is it possible to have the waveform chart to plot the different names, legends?
