That function was known by the same name in higher versions of LabVIEW/ Device drivers too
Even in LabVIEW 8.2, This traditional DAQ function: AI Waveform Scan.vi, can be found
Probably you have not installed " Traditional DAQ" device drivers.
You can find it here

Hi P,
As devchander said you simply have to install Traditional DAQ driver support for LV 7.x. This KB shows what versions of NI-DAQ have support for different versions of LabVIEW. You will notice that there is no single DAQ driver that supports both LabVIEW 5 and 7.1. When you install a newer DAQ driver, it will most probably overwrite your old DAQ driver, and you will lose the DAQ support for LabVIEW 5. The best thing to do is keep those two versions of LabVIEW on different PCs if you want to have DAQ support for both of them.
Hope that helps!
