Adding PCI IO on a development laptop

I need to develop software on a laptop PC for use in a rack of electronics with a touchscreen panel pc which has PCI cards installed.  How do I add the analog and digital IO functions in Labview 2009 since they don't show up in the Measurement and Automation Explorer on my laptop?

Whether you have hardware or not, you should have all of the DAQmx functions as long as you installed the driver.

With the driver installed, you'll be able to simulate most of the DAQmx devices and do much (not all) of the development and debug on the laptop. Non-DAQmx devices are a different story.

I finally found the Measurement IO pallette.  It should allow me to reference the PCI card via Traditional DAQ options.  Thanks.

Unless you are using very old DAQ hardware, do not use traditional DAQ. It is obsolete and you cannot simulate any devices.
