Adding Date and Time to DAQ Output

Hello.  I am a college student at Lehigh University who is relatively new to LabVIEW.  I have been working on this VI for a few weeks (not exclusively, as I do have other projects to work on) and I have hit sort of a rut.  The purpose of the program is to take readings before and after an air pollution control device.  It will export this data in collumns into an excel file every 30 seconds-1 minute while giving real time readings on the front panel.  Right now I reduced the sampling time for the exporting to the excel file to 1 reading per second so I dont have to wait 30+ seconds everytime I want to see if my VI works, but that is not the issue.

For some reason the date and time are not appearing as I was hoping them to.  I get a reading in the collumn but it seems to be randomly generated numbers and not the format I was looking for...eg July 24, 2007 with real time hour:min:sec at sample given either before or after the date.  If you look at my VI the icons the pink wire is attached to is my attempt to add the date/time into the data stream.  If anyone has any input or modifications as to how to change this to my desired output that would extremely helpful.  Even if it is only possible to add the time-of-day to the data stream that would be satisfactory enough.  Thanks for all your help!
Also, I should mention that I am currently running LabVIEW 8.0.1

The date and time are not in the log file because you are removing them when you convert the dynamic data to a 2D numeric array and use the Write to Spreadsheet File. The timestamp should be part of the data returned by the DAQ Assistant and I don't think you need the separate date/time function. Why don't you try wiring the dynamic data type to the Write LabVIEW Measurement File function and see if that is closed to what you need?

Ben wonders out loud....

Was there a bug in the timestamps that was fixed recently?
