I wouldn't think that you need an ASCII printout to copyright your work.
Maybe your lawyer is thinking that you want to patent it. But getting back
to your question, there is no text-based code behind the graphic code. I
would think, though, that you could use the graphic code as your patent
artwork. You might check out some of the LabVIEW patents listed at
http://www.ni.com/legal/patents/ to see if they offer an ideas on how to
proceed.
