6i runtime engine

If I use Labview 6i to make some communication and file handler DLL's to use
with Delphi 6, will I havwe to use the large 6i runtime engine. The only
lthing I would use Labview 6i for is to make the DLL's

Yes, you need the Run-Time Engine, even though your DLLs use just a part from its code.
Anyway, given today's computer resources, it's not that much.
