Sound VIs have issues [MacOS]

The Generate Sound.VI example terminates prematurely with an error,

The Sound input express VI returns all zeros.  

Continuous Sound Input tries to read 2 channels from my M1 MacBook Air and fails of course.  Even when recording 1 channel, it fails with same error as above.
