I started tinkering with this today and was able to reproduce your original crash. However I'm NOT able to reproduce the crash with the the mxLvGetFilePath.vi in a for loop. Can you provide a test case that demonstrates this second crash? Does this happen in the normal LabVIEW context, or only when in a project provide context? Finally, can you briefly describe what your end goal is with this VI and what it's purpose is in your provider? This will help me to find a suitable workaround, since even if this CAR is fixed, I'm sure you'll want it working correctly for older versions of LabVIEW.
