How reset stepping motor in the initial position

Hi!

Reconstructing a driver(on the LINX-Arduino) for the Proportional Control valve with unipolar stepper (the standard stepper 5618S-05D Lin Engineering). On the original solution, each time when system is turned ON, stepper is first placing in the position-closed valve , no matter what position were  before. There is no feedback from the stepper. How do it?

It's not possible to do without any feedback from the system.

Also, are you using LIFA or LINX?  This community is for LIFA.  Also, IIRC, LINX does not yet have stepper motor support.

Re:How reset stepping motor in the initial position

I fully agree that the stepper can not define the starting position without feedback , but I've

got it on the my table; there is no feedback , but on each power on stepper returns to the initial

position (valve closed) .Stepper is standard design.

The only way without feedback is to just tell it to go a bunch of steps in that direction and let it slip.  If the motor is not strong enough to destroy the valve then that would work otherwise it would break something.

You said you have a system set up that does what you want already.  Have you looked at how it's done?
