Labview in embedded project

Some projects at my school were talking about using labview in embedded system for things like data acquisition and testing, has anyone have any experienced using it, what was the the pros and cons? I took a look at some labview books and most of them were about collecting data from elaborate equipment like the oscilloscopes and google showed me that the labview embedded module for ARM seems retired by NI.

What kind of School? If this is K-12, have a look at the just released LabVIEW 2020 Community edition.

It include the LINX toolkit for use with Raspberry Pi, BeagleBoard, and Arduino.
