If you use the System Config vis to get the startup app version information it is only reports the version of the last software deployment from MAX using a CDF.  If I subsequently perform a software build and deploy the statup app from the Labview Project the version number reported by the System Config vis doesn't change.

Using a CDF is good practice for formal release, but it's not for development.  Any best practices for collecting rtexe version info during development?
