Meeting Topic:

Sam Taggart (SAS Workshops) will be presenting Getting Quicker Feedback - Getting Started With CI

We're all human. We all make mistakes. Yes even you. The question isn't "Are there bugs and logic errors in your code?" There are. The question is "How do we create a system for writing code where issues are easy to both catch and fix?" The answer to this is taking small steps and getting quick feedback. We'll talk about some simple strategies for getting quick feedback by automating the testing and build process. I'll show you how to implement that using GitHooks and GitLab CI.

"See you" on Tuesday, Sept 28th, 2021.

The LAF organizing team (Craig, Chris, and Allen)

PS:  Michael Munroe has proposed an interesting topic idea that we might want to explore in a future meeting.  Go here to read about it, kudo it if you like, or propose your own topic:  https://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW-Architects-Forum/Call-for-Presentations-for-2021/m-p/4156074#M714

Here is the other video I mentioned about setting up a GitLab Runner. It walks you through step by step.
