visa uninstall Problems

In windows 2000 ni-vxi/ni-visa3.2 does not seam to have installed properly - in the respect that many other applications are having problems locating the visa library andcertain components do not seam to be installed (eg. T&M explorer). The 1st problem was resolved by uninstalling via add/remove programms but after doing this 3times Visa still does not seam toinstall properly. If anyone has any ideas, let the newbie know:)

Hi NatzW,

What order are you installing the hardware and software in. Generally at National Instruments we recommend that you install the drivers first and then application software (although quite often during application software installation if will ask to update your driver software), and then install the hardware.

If you are installing hardware before you install software then it will cause problems. If you are getting problems with recognising the VISA functions from other programs, and reinstalling hasn't helped, then it is possible that you have a corrupt disk or something. Please go to the following link to download NI-VISA 3.2 and try installing it from here.

Hi Natz,

How many bits of NI software do you have installed on your system? The reason I ask this is that We have a program here which is a customized version of MSIBlast. I have attached this program to this post.

Please use this program to completley uninstall everything to do with NI from your system. From there you can re-install NI-VISA, hopefully the completley clean install should help with getting it to work.

I know this might seem like a drastic step but it does often help to solve installation issues.

Best regards,
