What kind of scope has a parallel port connection? What is the make and model and where did you get the driver? How are you trying to detect the scope?

That scope does not support remote programming through the parallel port. Only Ethernet, GPIB, and RS-232. The printer port on the instrument is used for - printing (big surprise).

I'm not familiar with a program called PC Wizard. If you want to use an NI tool, you can start MAX (Measurement & Automation Explorer). You can detect and find a GPIB instrument, detect or configure an Ethernet instrument, or talk to a serial instrument.

In MAX and at Devices & Interfaces under Configuration, right click and select Create New>VISA TCP/IP Resource. After that, what you do will depend on how the instrument is setup - whether it is on the same subnet as your pc or isn't.

Do you get any error code or message? Is the instrument on the same subnet as your pc? How are you connecting to the instrument? Through a hub or direct cable? If it's a direct cable, is it a cross-wired type? Can you ping the instrument?
