Hello,
I am using Measurement and Automation Explorer in order to look at some of the connections I have and look at the various instruments that are connected. In particular I am looking at instruments that I have connected via serial-to-usb adapters. This adds more serial (COM) ports to the computer so I can add more instruments.
The problem:
Whenever I click on "Devices and Interfaces" and then "Serial and Parallel", the program hangs for a second, the crashes and quits.
What causes this? This never happened before, how can I fix it?
Thanks

Hey BCM,
This behavior sounds like you may have a corrupt registry entry that's causing the program to fail. Can you tell me or take a screenshot of what information is in your registry editor? To get to the proper registry go to your Start Menu»Run and type in "regedit" (without the quotation marks). Once the Registry Editor window opens, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE»HARDWARE»DEVICEMAP»SERIALCOMM.
Also does MAX crash when viewing any other devices, like DAQmx Devices, or performing any other actions, like creating a DAQmx Task?
Thanks,
