how to use Basic serial read write Vi

hello friends..

                   I am very new to labview .I dont know much things about serial communication.I am doing a project on soccer robots.I am trying to use 

Basic read and Vi .I had no problem with Hardware.But I dont know what is the Format been used to communicate with robot.Things like I dont know what to type on the 

String to write.I dont know whether we have to use Plain english in this portion or do we need to give some coding so that we can communicate with the device ...Basically I am totally
lost Dont know where to start

The format for the commands should be in some documentation for this robot. Have you asked the manufacturer? that's the first place to start.  I don't know what anyone here can do to help since you didn't even provide the make and model of the robot.

we are using Inova Imicro robot.I am using the RF module in the robot.I am  trying to use the example given by the manufacturer.I am attaching the file with this post

I was able to transmit data from the robot but the problem I dont recieve what I send but somethingelse and I get framing error while receiveing the data .But I dont how to send Data from labview to the robot.I am using MPLAB to program the robot..
