error in configuring VISA

I cannot access my VISA option at all...I'm using labview 2011..i tried to validate and open visa session then it displayed...

"Error opening resource:
ASRL3::INSTR

VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF0072) The resource is valid, but VISA cannot currently access it."

I surfed throught all the details...but i couldnot resolve..please help me...

The common causes for that error is some other program is using the resource or you failed the previously close the resource.  I would try a reboot and try your code again.

Also, to prevent this error in the future (in case, if you'll open VISA reference in the VI, and then VI will be terminated, and VISA resource will not be released), I'd recommend to setup the following for your LabVIEW environment:

go to Options -> Environment -> Automatically close VISA sessions, and make sure, that it is enabled.
