Why can I see my GPIB-USB-B connected devices in MI MAX but I do not get those devices to show up in the drop down menus for VISA vis?

I can see all instruments connected to my GPIB-USB-B through NI MAX, but I do not see those devices as choices for inputs to the VISA Write or any other VISA vis.  The only choice provided in the Constant Drop-down menu is ASRL3::INSTR, instead of the expected GPIB0::18::INSTR etc. 

I am using LV 8.5.  with 488.2

The instruments are from ETS-Lindgren and Agilent.

What might be missing?

I get the same problem on one of our computer but not another.

Have you closed and opened LV since plugging in the device? 

And can you post a screencap with what you see in MAX and what you see in LV?
