What are driver nipbcfk.sys, nipxibaf.sys, and nipxibrc.sys?

Hi, I noticed that all system devices have those drivers attached in Device

Manager and none of those are digitally signed. Is this the correct

behavior? Are they added by spyware? What are they for? Any harm to my system (Windows 7)?

Here is an example:

ACPI Fan:

nipbcfk.sys, nipxibaf.sys, nipxibrc.sys, they don't even show the original

driver

PCI Bus:

nipbcfk.sys, nipxibaf.sys, nipxibrc.sys, pci.sys

I am evaluating this because our system is crashing. I am wondering if the

above drivers are added by spyware.

Thanks,

zhongsheng

zhongsheng,

These are expected drivers. They are installed automatically with other NI software and should not be removed. They are not spyware.

nipbcfk = NI PCI Bridge Class Filter Driver
nipxibaf = NI PXI Bridge Access Filter Driver
nipxibrc = NI PXI Bridge Configuration Filter Driver

The "Not Digitally Signed" in the device manager is also a bit deceiving. If you look at the properties of the files in C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS they are in fact digitally signed by National Instruments, verifying their authenticity. The Device Manager only appears to consider something digitally signed if it bears a Microsoft signature.
