Solved!

Hi, I have an application where i need to monitor communication between two devices that use serial ports.

Does anyone know if i can do this with the NI USB-232/4? Can i use 1 of the serial ports to monitor what happens between two others?

Thanks in advance.

That device gives you 4 independent serial ports.  Each will have their own COM port to access it from.  So you can use it to communicate with up to 4 devices.

As far as monitoring between two other devices, you will need to make a special cable to access the RX signal on each side of the communication and wire them up to 2 different serial ports on your computer, like with the USB-232/4.
