USB-GPIB HS driver error

Hi,
 
When you plug in the GPIB-USB-HS, do you see any pop-up notices regarding a lack of power at the USB port?  Could you try connecting the GPIB-USB-HS through a powered USB Hub (One that plugs into the wall to supply power to connected devices). 
 
The GPIB-USB-HS requests a full 500 mA of power, but some laptops are not capable of supplying that amount.  Using a powered hub will ensure that the device is able to obtain all the current it has requested.

Issue is closed. But I haven't used an active USB-Hub.Thanks anyway
Now for the record:
1) Have used the official NI "Device Driver Reference CD" Disk 1/3 and installed manually under "\Products" the drivers 488.2, VISA; MAX;NI-SPY and this might be wrong. I have for the first time run the CD and used the Menu "Install Device Driver", this has installed several NI-DAq and other tools I might have forgotten.
After that I plugged in the USB-GPIB and Windows HW Wizzard  recognized it.
So it is not TOSHIBA laptops issue.

I don't consider this really closed, if no good errormessages are displayed.
Is it possible by changing the bus speed to reduce these power requirements.

Hi

In MAX you can select the device and change the properties.
I did not try myself but for other interfaces I 'm sure you can change the bus speed from a few ns  to 2 us that is easier for old instruments.
Maybe this also affects the power consumption.
