Two serial port input for one program

Dear Sir,
I have VI program for monitoring experiment , then i add anthore VI program to this program so i can use same platform and i have to use two serial port(RS 232)so my proplem is how i can define each port i mean since i have now two part in the main program (one for monitoring and the other for controlling)how i can make sure that each part will communicate with one serial port so first part should get data from Port 1 and second part of program should get data from Port 2 .

Thanks and best Regards

Are you using a VISA Resource Name to identify your serial ports in your program? It is a control found in the I/O group. That type of identification ties it to a specific port.

You will need to open two visa sessions - one for each port. This would require two visa resource names and two initialize serial port vi's.
