Serial communication in LabVIEW 8

Dear NI support,

I have a doubt in LabVIEW-8.
I am getting serial data through RS232. I am using VISA configure serial
port
and VISA Read VIs. Data bits and the byte count are 8. I am getting ASCII
characters at the VISA read buffer. I was just wondering if there is any
way to
get the hex or decimal values. I have tried ""Hex to decimal no." block.
But
there is no output from it.

Please let me know about it.

Hex is just a way to view binary data, like asci is another way. Just make the display field HEx or Binary or standard.

and there is the string to decimal array vi to convert your visa read string into an array of U8

I am able to get the decimal values from U8.
