Schleich MTC2

Has anyone already used a Schleich MTC2 surgetester ?

I'm looking for existing solutions to read the test results of the MTC2 with a LV application in order to store them in a file with a proprietary format.

  • RS-232 or USB LV driver to communicate with the tester.
  • VI to extract the results from MTC2's access database (*.mdb). I don't have an MS Access licence.
  • Software from the supplier which stores the results in a configurable or at leat in an easy to read format .
  • ...

At this point, no alternative is excluded.

Many thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi JB,

as the Interface page of the Schleich device shows:

The tester has several interfaces to communicate with the outside electric world.

USB to save a test on a flash-drive
RS232 to communicate and remote control a GLP1-e high-voltage tester
VGA to connect a large external screen

The USB Port of the MTC2 seems to be a Master, so you will not be able to handle it as a slave to request data from the MTC2.

The RS232 seems only support a connection to their other devices like the GLP1-e.

So have you tried to get in contact with Schleich directly?

They should be the best to get information about what is possible through the busses the device supports.

As far as I could see in the documentation it is a very closed system.

Yes called the vendor yesterday and I am now waiting for its response. I am still very interested in the experience of other users.

Thank you for your time.
