RS485 RTS Control in 2-Wire Auto Mode

I want read the CTS line and control the RTS line of a NI USB RS485 device.

Reading the Knowledge Base i found out that the control of the modem lines is only possible in 4-Wire mode but our system architecture requires a two wire (Half Duplex) mode.

Does anybody have a solution how to by-pass that restriction of the device or driver?
