NI-488.2 GPIB software not correctly installed

Hi,

I am having a lot of trouble just to get this software to install properly - the troubleshooter complains that it has not installed, and asks me to reboot and reinstall.

I have now tried this several times, each time going through the installer successfully, but failing on the verification.

It has worked on other laptops, with the very same GPIB PCMCIA card. Device manager shows no conflicts and is happy with the drivers given. But the programs written by my colleague cannot access the instrumentation.

Help!

Thanks,
Sara

Hello Sara,

What version of the NI-488.2 software are you trying to install? And what operating system are you running this on?

Can you post a screen shot of the troubleshooting wizard, with the message that it displays to this post?

If you can post this back, I'll take a look and see what could be causing this issue.

still no solution for this? I'm having the same problem.

I have installed NI-488.2 1.7 and NI-VISA 5.0.2

MAX can't find my instrument via GPIB, and the troubleshoot say this:
